6 Must Do’s If You Have Psoriasis

Consult a Doctor

Make an appointment with a doctor who specializes in treating psoriasis.

Be prepared to discuss the details of the condition with your doctor, including when you first noticed the psoriasis, what your symptoms are, any situations that seem to make your symptoms worse, and what treatments have and have not worked for you in the past.

Moisturize your skin regularly

Dry skin is more prone to psoriasis, so keep your skin well lubricated.

Apply moisturiser immediately after bath on a damp skin. This will help to lock in the moisture for prolonged time. You can also apply coconut oil or olive oil as a substitute for moisturising creams.

Expose to early morning sun light

Frequently exposing to early morning sun light will help to clear the skin eruptions faster. Expose regularly to morning sunlight for about 20-30 minutes. Sunlight in particular penetrates the skin and slows the growth of affected skin cells. It reduces the skin inflammation and slows down the cell proliferation those results in the scaling.

Do reach out

Along with affecting skin and joints, psoriasis also affects mind and emotions as well. You may feel depressed and frustrated due to recurring skin eruptions.  Discuss your feelings with your family, friends, and doctor.

Be Patient

It may take some time to find the right combination of therapies that work best for you. Be patient and don’t give up.

It’s important to follow the treatment plan religiously. Be Cooperative with your doctor and follow his instructions.
